Craig Chaquico - Midnight Noon

Over a 1 million units sold in the U.S. alone and boasting a bevy of radio hits, Grammy®-nominated guitarist Craig Chaquico is one of contemporary jazz’s hottest commodities. Inspired by the expression "jazz noon" (aka midnight), the tunes on Chaquico’s new album MIDNIGHT NOON explore what happens as day turns to night. Chaquico draws upon a wide range of styles — jazz, 1950s be-bop, Latin, and, of course, rock from his own days as the lead guitarist for Jefferson Starship — and incorporates some 50 different guitars into 10 groove-filled tracks. The idea of ‘Midnight Noon’ intrigued Chaquico on many levels. "Even outside of the music world and with so many technological advances, a lot of people don’t really get working until midnight and a 9 to 5 working day doesn’t seem to matter as much," he comments. "But it really is about apparent paradoxes in our lives...putting two words or ideas together that may not seem to go together, but end up making you see ordinary, day-to-day things in a new light."
